Victor’s representative matters include:
- Advised a syndicate of lenders led by Afreximbank on the US$3.3bn crude oil-backed prepayment facility to a special purpose vehicle borrower sponsored by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited under a forward sale structure with the production of a minimum of 90,000 bpd. Awarded “Natural Resources Finance Deal of the Year” at the GBM Africa Awards 2025.
- Advised the lenders on the bifurcated financings for the acquisition of Shell’s onshore and shallow water assets in Nigeria by Renaissance Africa Energy Company, a consortium of five Nigerian and international oil and gas companies.
- Advised the lenders (including Standard Chartered Bank) in connection with a US$1.4bn multi-year well drilling programme financing for NNPC/Chevron joint venture to help monetise reserves and increase production of gas for domestic supplies in respect of OMLs 49, 90 and 95. Awarded “Middle East and African Deal of the Year” at the PFI Awards 2022.
- Advising a leading indigenous oil and gas exploration company on up to US$514mm senior secured reserved-based lending facility from a syndicate of financial institutions to refinance an existing debt and fund the capex of OMLs 52 and 112.
- Advising a leading Nigerian commercial bank on a combined US$275mm financing package to part-fund the acquisition of a significant stake in a 160,000-bpd, 67 km crude oil pipeline infrastructure and support the development of OMLs 150 and 59.
- Advising VTT LNG West Africa Limited on the establishment and financing of a 10 mmscf per day modular Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant project in Gelegele Community, Edo State designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the Federal Government’s policy for the eradication of domestic gas flares under the Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Programme.
- Advising IASO Medipark Limited on the development and financing of a medical park in Lagos, Nigeria through a public-private partnership initiative with the Lagos State Government. The medical facility will feature a 140-bed hospital, diagnostic centre, office spaces, short-let apartments (hotel and hostel), wellness centre, shopping mall, auditorium, and multi-level car park.
- Advised a foreign entity on multiple financial and technical services arrangements with Nigerian upstream licensees, including a joint venture of 10 indigenous oil and gas exploration companies for the development of a straddling field in the shallow waters of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
- Advising the sponsors on the terminal access arrangements critical to the operations and maintenance of a 750,000-barrel onshore crude oil export terminal and associated infrastructure at the Otakikpo Field, a first-of-its-kind facility to have been built by an indigenous company..
