Taiye Adegoke is an Associate in the firm. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and holds an LL.B. from the University of Ibadan. Her practice focuses on intellectual property, dispute resolution, projects and capital markets. Taiye has represented different clients at different levels of superior and inferior courts, as well as statutory administrative tribunals in Nigeria. Taiye has also provided legal advisory and support services to diverse clients in the capital market, finance, shipping, and real estate sectors. He routinely provides general business advisory to both local and international clientele.

Taiye recently advised a top commercial bank in Nigeria on the creation and perfection of security over lands/assets located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone in connection with the Two Billion, Five Hundred Million Naira (₦2,500,000,000.00) loan facilities advanced by the bank to an approved enterprise. Taiye’s other major work experiences include:

• Represented a Chinese ship-owning company on the instruction of the China P&I Club (a member of the International Group of P&I Club (IGP)) in relation to an action brought by a Nigerian cargo owner against the Chinese company for delayed delivery of their cargo.
• Part of a team of lawyers currently advising and representing Game Discount World (Nigeria) Limited and its foreign holders through the phases of its divestment/exit of its business operations from West Africa (Nigeria).
• Part of a team of lawyers advising a top Nigerian company in the structuring and implementation of the phased development of its undeveloped land measuring approximately thirty (30) hectares in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos jointly with another real estate development company using an SPV.
• Part of a team of lawyers currently acting as Lega Advisers to the Lagos State Government (the Issuer) in its N1,000,000,000,000 (One Trillion Naira) Debt and Hybrid Instrument Issuance Programme pursuant to which the State may issue Series or Tranches (as applicable) from time to time.
• Part of a team of lawyers that acted as Legal Advisers to the Issuer in the issuance of a US$25,000,000 (Twenty-Five Million United States Dollars) Private Shari’ah Compliant Ijarah Muntahia Bittamleek Notes for the acquisition of one (1) Boeing 777-200ER-F cargo aircraft.
• Advised a French company in connection with the registration of a mortgage on a helicopter leased to a Nigerian operator following the restructuring of the multi-million-dollar facilities covering the helicopter and others.
• Represented a foreign client in an action for the recovery of outstanding invoices for the supply of technical goods and rendering of technical services for the upkeep of a vessel owned by a shipping company.
• Successfully represented an investment firm based in Lagos, Nigeria, and secured on its behalf an out-of-court settlement, in an action brought against it by an investor at the High Court of Lagos State for unpaid investment sums of up to One Hundred and Forty-Six Million Naira (N146,000,000.00).
• Taiye provides pro-bono services to indigent clients. He recently represented two persons charged with criminal offences relating to sexual offences at the Sexual Offences Division of the High Court of Lagos State.
