Publication: Nigeria Regulatory Considerations for Telemedicine

Telemedicine presents a wide array of opportunities for the healthcare sector in Nigeria, including improved access to healthcare, increased commercialisation, and potential investment. However, without proper operating guidelines to address certain key concerns, the healthcare system remains vulnerable to misuse and compromised standards.

In this article, our Associate, Nwanneka Okwe, gives a detailed analysis of the current regulatory landscape and proposes ways to address intellectual property, consents, data protection, tax, licensing, and damages concerns relating to the practice of telemedicine in Nigeria, while also advocating for further development of the existing regulatory regime.
