Publication: Who Has The Power To Concession Airports in Nigeria
The concessioning of public airports in Nigeria was a cardinal aim of the administration of the erstwhile President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. During his administration, the concessioning of two major international airports – the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja (NAIA) and the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos (MMIA) were approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC). However, some news reports say that the new Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, has suspended the airport concession programme.
The question arising from the above is who has the power to concession public airports in Nigeria?
