In August 2022, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria Act, 2022 (“Act”) was enacted after the signing of the bill into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. The Act repeals the Advertising Practitioners (Registration, etc.) Act, Cap. A7, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
