Deal Announcement: G. Elias congratulates Tradenet Ltd., the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange (“LCFE”) and the Lagos State Government on their pioneering, recent rice commodities tradable forward contracts offering
We congratulate heartily Tradenet Ltd., the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange (“LCFE”) and the Lagos State Government on their pioneering, recent rice commodities tradable forward contracts offering: the establishment of a N30Billion Private Commodity Note Programme, and the issuance of Series 1 N5Billion Notes under the Programme.
This is the first agricultural commodities issuance ever to be listed on the LCFE Exchange. The proceeds of the Notes will be used to re-finance the working capital for “paddy aggregation” and the milling of [bead] rice at the LASRICO Rice Mill at Imota (near Ikorodu). G. Elias is privileged to have advised on this pace-setting, seminal transaction that addresses the issue of food security in Lagos State.
